Quick, without googling it, are the west coast wildfires still happening?
Answer: As of today, they seem to be largely under control.
It’s OK, I didn’t know either. I’m glad things have improved, because they’ve completely dropped out of the news cycle, and without any resolution. The biggest clue that things had improved comes from the fact that we haven’t been seeing any more of the dramatic photos of orange skies out of San Francisco and other cities.
I came across this Reuters photo a few weeks ago, and I’ve been hanging onto it for a while.
It’s pretty dramatic, but what really stood out to me (and certainly no-one else) is how much it resembles the header image from my recent(ish) post.
I wasn’t trying to make any kind of commentary when I made that; it’s just an interesting coincidence.
